John Strong was a tanner, born in Taunton, England in 1608, sailed from
Plymouth, England to the New World in 1630 in the ship "Mary & John." They
landed at Nantaskett, MA. He was among settlers who settled and founded
Dorchester, MA. He had a wife and a son, John, born in England. Another
child was born and died in 1630 either aboard ship or after landing. In
1638 John married Abigail Ford, daughter of Thomas Ford, who had also come
over from England aboard the "Mary & John." They had 16 children.

Jebediah Strong, 2nd child of John & Abigail Strong was born May 7, 1637.
He married Freedon Woodward, daughter of Dr Henry Woodward who had come from
Much Worten, England in the "James" in the summer of 1635 with Richard
Mather. Jebediah & Abigail had 11 children.
