Clare Wingert received his education in schools at Wesley, IA. He
worked at Rath Packing Company and for the John Deere Company both at Waterloo
IA, before returning to Kossuth County, IA to farm. When he retired from
farming he and Hertula built a house in Wesley where they lived until their
deaths. Clare served as Mayor of Wesley during the six years previous to his
death from a heart attack.
