The name Dillon was spelled Dillin in Ireland. It was also listed as Dalen
it the 1850 Census altho he was already deceased by then
Joseph Dillon (Dillin) with his wife Alice E Braithwaite immigrated to Canada
in 1831, then moved to Underhill, VT & later to Bradford Co, Vermont where he
died.

Atho born in England, Alice Braithwaite Dillon moved woith her husband Joseph
Dillon to Canada and then to the US in 1831. After her husband's death she
is believed to have moved to Illinois where her son Joseph lived.

In 1869, Alcenas took up homestead land in Kossuth County,near Wesley, Ia,in
conjunction with his sons, William and Chandler and his sons-in-law, James H
Ford, William Pearson Giddings and Abner Joseph Flack. Alcenas and his wife
are buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Wesley, Iowa.

Dillin as it came from Ireland and seems to have been spelled Dillon by
some members of the family.
